This weekend, my mom, sister and I were so fortunate to attend the Neiman Marcus Art of Beauty event. From product demonstrations to walks down the runway, this event was exquisite.
Before I get into the details of this event, I want to talk about the fabulous outfits my sister and I were sporting. The beautiful shift, sweater dress that I wore is by Missoni, called the “Geo Mock Mini“. Such a great dress for day or night. I paired it with the Lulu Frost “Belleville Necklace“, the soft colors in this piece complemented the dress so so well. Since this was a morning event, I wasn’t loving the idea of wearing a pair of pumps, even though they would have been the most flattering with this dress. However, the black tights in combination with my ankle booties made everything blend nicely, and make my mini legs appear just a bit longer. Sam’s dress is by Opening Ceremony (our fav) called the “Harvest White Stripped Dress” and her beautiful creature of a coat is the “Multicolor Fur Collar Dreamer” by Harvey Faircloth. So furry, so colorful, so fab.
Here are a few snippets for you of the fashion show, the models were wearing everything from Rag and Bone to Eileen Fisher.
What I loved about the demonstrations at this event was that they were geared around skin prep products. Something that I often don’t think about. I learned about so many great new products and skincare companies. The makeup applied was simple and natural looking, not heavy and dramatic like other demonstrations I have experienced. The technique and event in general had an over all fresh springy feel to it.
Now for some excitement, below are the beautiful product samples that were in the gift bags from the show.
I have yet to try most of these products yet, but when I do you will all be the first to hear about them! Below are the three perfume samples that I am DYING to try, I am always on the hunt for a new signature scent. My mom wears this particular Tom Ford scent already, but from my experience, the same scent smells different on everyone in combination with their body chemistry. I learned that the hard way after an innocent in middle school. This one mother would drop off her kids everyday and I could literally smell her from a mile away, this woman smelled heavenly. After about 6 months of my nose stalking her, I finally asked her what perfume she wore. Chanel Eau Tendre. I was pumped, bought it, drowned my 12 year old self in it, and smelled nothing like her. Still such a shame.
This next set is all skin related which of course make my heart race, anything Kiehls related has a place in my heart.
This final product you see below I have already tried. I won this magnificent face wash at the event and it is a MIRACLE WORKER. My skin felt so fresh and radiant after just one use. It’s foamy consistency felt so light and clean on my skin. I will definitely be adding this to my skin care routine.
I cannot wait to get the chance to try these samples. I know for a fact I’m going to fall in love with them and end up having to pony up for the real thing (but it’s always worth it)
Overall this was such a great event, I love any excuse to get dressed up, make connections with new people in the industry and fawn over anything beauty or fashion related.
