Sephora Shopping Spree

|A Quick Purchase BreakdownVanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick, Hidden® Corrective Concealer, Ambient® Lighting Bronzer, Ambient® Lighting Blush, All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting SprayB6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray.

So yesterday I went on a little mall trip with my Mama, we had the cutest little lunch at the Neiman Marcus Cafe and did some not so little shopping.

My mom and I went to the mall on the hunt for a completely new makeup collection for her. I have always loved Hourglass Cosmetics and knew it would be the best brand for her because of its creamy consistency. Like most people in the winter, my mom’s skin gets dry, which makes her not want to apply too much makeup. Hourglass is perfect for addressing these circumstances because they are creamy, but not heavy. I got her all set up with everything she would need at Sephora. First, the Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in the shade, buff as a base. Next, the Hidden® Corrective Concealer, in the shade, Fair. This concealer is great because it is heavy enough for great coverage, but not so rich that it settles into fine lines.

Now for my favorite Hourglass product, the Ambient® Lighting Bronzer, in the shade, Luminous Bronze Light. This shade is perfect for medium to tan completions. Which is great because my mom can get use out of it all year round due to its color diversity. Lastly, the Ambient® Lighting Blush in the shade, Luminous Flush – champagne rose. The rosey/peachy tones in this shade are perfect for bringing out the blue in my mom’s eyes. All such amazing products that I cannot wait for her to try!!

And for myself of course, some staple items that I have run out of. The new formula of the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. This is one of my favorite setting sprays, next to the Makeup Forever Mist & Fix of course. I love it because of the amount and press that the product releases, it really is a mist, not a full force spray like most. It is designed so well and gently that you don’t feel like you’re being attacked by a water hose while spraying your face. fullsizeoutput_3e2bNext, I have been DYING to try this product. The B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray, beautiful packaging aside, I have heard such great things about this prep spray. It hydrates while minimizing oils, which is just fascinating to me,  AND minimizes pores and redness. Sign me up right?? I used this spray before doing my makeup for a dinner out last night and my makeup went on beautifully!! I’ve never used any sort of priming spray, usually just oils, but Urban Decay has definitely got me hooked this time!! This is a must try!!

I also renewed my VIB rouge status yesterday and HAD to share that cute little brush and pouch they gave me for doing so. SO cute and SO soft!!

I am so excited about my Urban Decay prep spray (and how insanely awesome that neon green/yellow bottle is) and all of the new products for my mom. If you are not familiar with any of these items I definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone to try! They are all so versatile and beneficial to any skin type. I hope you enjoyed these as much as I do and give them a try!!

I need a new foundation, Bella, and like the idea of something dewy and rich for drying winter. My skin feels thin, tired and tight. Do you recommend the same Hourglass products above?

Yes hourglass is a great creamy/ rich foundation! If you’re looking for a liquid foundation or something with a lighter feel on your face, I recommend the Josie Maran “Vibrancy Argan Oil Foundation”. It’s oil based, so it’s great if you’re feeling dry, but it’s not too heavy on your face!!

Thanks Bella! I will sample both next time I’m in Sephora.

Bella! I bought the Josie Maran foundation you recommended. Wow! It was more oily and translucent than I expected, so I thought it would be too rich and wouldn’t provide enough coverage. But no! After it dried, I was left with a relaxed/creamy/supple look — like I slept for 10 hours. This foundation + the Too Cool for School egg cream sheet mask = 10 years younger. LOVE IT!!

I also bought the Anatasia Brow Wiz pencil and was lucky to have Allie at Sephora give me an on-the-spot tutorial. It was easier than I thought and just filling in my brows gave me a defined shape without having to experiment with the pomade. The Sephora is Herald Square NYC is offering daily make-up classes. I didn’t get the full scoop or cost, but they can tell you if you call.
